Talked to Shoaib Mansoor on the phone! :)

Just a few minutes ago, I called Shoaib Mansoor, yes that very Shoaib Mansoor who is known for so many good things that I find it difficult to highlight any single aspect of his personality. Well, I mainly like him for his magical work done for the Vital Signs and Junaid Jamshed. Then I like him for his excellent tv shows such as 50-50, Sunehrey Din, Ankahi, Tanhaiyan, Alpha Bravo Charlie, Gulls & Guys, etc. Then I like him for his first ever movie Khuda Kay Liye, a really well made movie which I really liked!

I got his number after quite an effort I'd say. I'd been trying to call him on and off for a quite a few days now. But today he picked up the phone and well, we talked, and i was just so happy to talk to him. I was just kinda lost in thinking what to say hehe. He was cool, calm and casual and the calmness in his speech was mindblowing. I was so impressed and I guess success lies in being patient and calm.

Well, you might take it as anything, but talking atleast once to Shoaib Mansoor was a dream for me since I just love the lyrics he has written. I basically like all of his work a lot. I hope he can continue doing more of the great work he has been doing for all these years. I'm indeed feeling lucky that I've got to talk to him hehe.

I am feeling free

I am feeling free, after having the last few days of my life so in love with course books (zabardasti ka love). I finally got rid of the most amazingly useless thing on the planet, it's actually not a thing, it's a complete course titled 'IS Audit'. There is some crappy organization called ISACA which tries to robotify all the sane elements of the environment. I am so annoyed by this CISA Manual, this CISA Manual is a terrible peace of **** load. I am sorry guys but I am extremely annoyed by this. If I were a warden, I'd have given this CISA manual to the most misbehaving of prisoners to read it as a punishment for their behaviour. If you need to know that an apple comes with 'a' and it is a fruit, the CISA manual will tell you that deliberately in atleast around 5 to 10 pages and that too using uselessly 'made up' terminology.

Well, I was with Adeel and Amjad, at Adeel's place the whole night before the exams. Before going to Adeel's house in the evening, Adeel and Amjad were at my place the whole day, and all this time we were trying to figure out why in this world has this ISACA got such respect that thier material is being taught in the universities. Well, everybody I talk to are terribly sick of this CISA manual broduced by ISACA crap. The exam has been taken, and I am relieved that all those long hours proved helpful with the friends, we travelled, we had great food outside (and inside our homes) :P and in between we managed to study. That's the way one should study a boring subject.

I still have one more exam to take but that one is relatively much more sensible and useful and practical and something that atleast makes sense :)

Aisey Hum Jiyen

I am a big fan of Vital Signs. I do not find a day when I do not listen to atleast one of their songs. I salute the band for delivering good music. An odd couple of songs they did were very much inspired by popular western bands but other than those you can't ignore the fact that they gave us Dil Dil Pakistan and a long list of wonderful songs.

I love the patriotic songs they've done. Maula, Hum Hain Pakistani, Dil Dil Pakistan, and so on. Here is one song, written by Hassan Akbar Kamal, which is relatively less known but is very very good. It's dedicated to Pakistan Air Force.

So, here goes the song:

Oonchi, bohat oonchi
In hawaon mei rehna hai zindagi
Jeena zindagi
Dhundli fazaaon se
Har dam nigahon mei
Apni zameen hai

Tez khayalon se
Apni uraanein hain
Aik mohabbat

Kitni jaanein hain
Zindagi ka maza
Yun jeeney mei hai
Kal b zinda rahein

Aisey Hum Jiyen

Oonchi, bohat oonchi
In hawaon mei rehna hai zindagi
Jeena zindagi
Har dam nigahon mei
Apni zameen hai

Kal to usi ka hai
Aaj na jo haarey
Duur hai wo jeevan
Aag jo se kheley
Her naya aasman
Hai apna jahan

Kya pata
Kal humein
Jana ho kahan

Han zindagi ka maza
Yun jeeney mei hai
Kal bhi zinda rahein

Aisey Hum Jiyen

Han zindagi ka maza
Yun jeeney mei hai
Kal bhi zinda rahein

Aisey Hum Jiyen

* I types the lyrics as I listened to the song. So if anyone feels there should be a correction, please do let me know!

Non-linear Non-linear Non-linear

I was one of those people who were much more appreciative of a somewhat linear way of thinking: Grow Up, Finish School, College, University, Work, Family, Weakness, Death. But I changed myself and the way I think a lot many units of time ago.

I have become a dangerously (should I say that?) comfortable person. And I am a non-linear person. I just CAN NOT live my life in a linear fashion. I have seen that and I have learnt that. I tried, yes, to live in a linear method and tried walking on that path (Us Rah Per) but I am so not able to walk on that. I am also of the opinion that is expressed in that lovely song Us Rah Per.

A megatriilion times I have thought about giving everything else I do a break and be a tameez dar insaan and finish off my studies first, but I can not, i simply, CAN NOT! This is somewhat dangerous for me, I am unable to control myself here :P Allah saeein khair kajo!

I enjoy it all though. I enjoy if I feel I am a little different (am i?). Being different doesn't always have to be a 'cool thing'. Hitler was different, yeah! Begum Nawazish Ali is different.

But yes, a good thing to have in your life is the Non-linear way of things. Infact, if you are practical enough, this non-linear way of things would be so common to you that it may have already become second nature to you.

I was so optimistic when I decided that I am going to take a little break and then I will be back to full throttle when I am done with my exams. Lekkin! I am not used to live without my workstation and some work that keeps the excitement in my life!

I got my first teeka (not maathey wala, its the injection) for my Hapatitus B vaccination. Rather unknowingly, I had never cared much for having the vaccination for it. I only went today, tested negative on Hepatitus B, and got my first dose. I'll have to go to them next month again.

Non-linear, Non-linear, Non-linear... blaaaast! **my head explodes**, **heads to emergency ward**, **wishing life was simpler for the thinking souls**

Computer Graphics Project Progress: Badshahi Masjid Lahore

The time has come that we submit our course projects and I am kinda lost in these ajkal. I have to deliver this Computer Graphics project on Monday and I haven't started animation process. I had started working on this one way back but then left it as I had so much of everything else to handle :)

Now when the time has arrived, I have no choice but to move on the path of 'jaan churaaying'... that's the art of just getting things done as soon as possible!

So, the model is ready, and now I am going to start animating it, during which I have to setup lighting, and then after all this, editing and composition of the final thing. It's been done entirely in Blender 3D, an open source 3d production package. So, thanks to them! :)

Prayers needed! I am also kinda slow on the Network Programming project.

Gandhi on World Peace

It may be long before the law of love will be recognised in international affairs. The machineries of government stand between and hide the hearts of one people from those of another.

Huh.. an update

Finally, I am taking all the pain to update my blog. Oh boy, it often becomes a pain, the best thing you love to do, it becomes the worst thing that you have to do. I am busy in exams and projects so much that I am unable to do anything of anything else.

I went to Procom 2008 and TechElite 2008, we did have a great time there! Was totally worth the time I spent there I would say, meeting talented people from different places.

I will be busy in the upcoming days. I will try my very very best to update my blog with stuff that you like to read maybe, but grrrr... I am so lazy at times so I don't find enough things that push me to write.

Maybe I'd like to share a wonderful piece of work from Ali Kapadia here. Be ready for a pleasant surprise! I interviewed this guy for CGX back when he was just a new name and he had come up with Maujon Mein, a music video built using the stop motion animation. And at that time, we did know that this guy is going to come up with some rock solid entertainment stuff! So, he did exactly that!
