Credit Hours for Sports
PAF-KIET has introduced an 'Sports' course carrying 0.5 Credit Hours each semester, and it is a compulsory course to be taken by the students, and we have to pay the fees for these .5 credit hours. The sports facilities are provided by the PAF Base Korangi Creek. They do have a great football field, and good enough courts and fields for other sports.
Today it was my Sports class, and I've chosen Squash - something that keeps you away from dreadfully hot sun and at the same time makes you move yourself enough to call it as a decent physical exercise to make yourself feel young again =P
See how cool it is, I have to play sports or I'll be marked as absent, and failing to attend the Sports session 6 times entitles me for an F grade. So another addition to our list of courses, this time a different one!
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is Crap!
I went to the Capri cinema a few days back to see this movie with a fair bit of excitement as this is "Indiana Jones"... BUT I was utterly disappointed, and not just me but everyone around! This time the move makers try to be 'oh so cute' rather than focusing on something that makes sense.
One reviewer on IMDB got it right when he said:
When you come out of the cinema screen, turn around and look at the expressions of the people walking out behind you. I did, and it was a collective 'Has someone just farted?'
I went with Ahmed, Adeel and Hamid, and we had good fun together but we all were dissapointed with the movie.
OK, let's face it: Indiana Jones survives a nuclear blast just by hiding himself inside a fridge! and that fridge was inside the house where the nuclear explosion took place. Everything in that house literally melted of that massive nuclear explosion but here we go, our indi jones is well and alive and the fridge is just fine left after everything just vanished.
Here's another one: The enemies are an army of their own with advanced weaponry in their hands all the time and they're shown having machine guns firing with full flow onto the indi jones and crew, yet none of the indi jones members are hit by even a single bullet.. i'm pretty much sure those enemies weren't blind.. and they were soldiers so shouldn't miss a shot from 6 to 8 feet distance.
Now this one: In the end, out of no where does this UFO come into place and flies away.. i kinda laughed a lot at it.
There are so many other moments during the movie that you just literally get shocked to see: surviving three consecutive deadly waterfall jumps and landing safe in a boat in two of them and just safely in the water in the third (and most disasterous) one. That was so lame honestly.
well, i was so wrong when i felt that ppl like Lucas and Spielberg can't make stupid things.. actually they're humans and they just proved that! I'd still give it a 3 out of 10 for some eye candy/stunts and some funny moments...
I’m alive!
I just noticed I have become quite slow when it comes to blogging, I'm less frequent on coming up with posts. Maybe it's just me who feels like it or it its a fact, anyways, I think it's just that a few other things have caught more of my attention.
I went to Radio City yesterday with Sarfoo, bought 3 DVDs: American Gangster, Ratatouille (ra-ta-tui) and Shawshank Redemption. Seen just the ra-ta-tui so far, and enjoyed it thoroughly
Pixar rocks!
Today will find time to watch another one of the remaining two. On the other hand, I am feelin lucky these days
say mashaAllah you rude visitor
Looking at the title of my post, I recalled a really good song 'I'm alive' by Celine Dion, so I youtubed and found http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Pw4Nn99vlU .
Be happy!
Cheers,
Kami
I’ve got a new digicam: Olympus Stylus 760
I've got a new digital camera guys! It's so much fun thinking of yourself as a big gun in photography
cute tools like the Olympus Stylus 760 along with Paint Shop Pro surely make the job of becoming a cool photgrapher easy.
I've liked everything about the camera so far, the functions, the quality and the looks of the camera itself
I bought it on the advice of Hamza Azeem, a really good photographer and a student from the Engineering Department at PAF-KIET.
The 'One Step Photo Fix' filter inside of Paint Shop Pro did the trick of further improving the picture quality.
Now that I've got a nice digital camera, I think it's time for me to join Flickr!
Emotions vs Logic!
I had a loooong chat with Munir, a travelling geek from some (almost) boys only university
We "discussed" about the situations when we have the option to select either of the two: emotions or logic. Look at the way I enclosed the word 'dicussed' in quotation marks; that means it was an interesting discussion ;P
I was in for logic and Munir was in favour of emotions. We kept putting up examples in favour of our beloved items and we ended up without agreeing to each other.
In between we discussed about why we should not work at Axact and how to go about toont toont tooooooont!
when we're upset.
It was a nice gup shup, he gave me a nice couple of things to help me unfold the thing called life. We talked about Apple Mecca and how some people interpret the same things differently.
I am still in favour of not favouring the emotions
but the rest of you might have different ideas!
Why are Sundays so cool?
Man I must admit I had anotha ammazing sunday! I love you Sunday! I met Akram and Ahmed and we went to Noorani Kabad House and of course we didn't catch rabbits there! Then we headed to Ahmed's home for a nice coffee (thanks Aunty
.
We chatted about loaaaaaaadzzz of things for a looong time. It was so much fun, so much that we've decided to meet up next week as well. Adeel kameena and Amjad seth were busy so they couldn't come, no worries but we missed you guys!
I think it's really worth it, this meetup every sunday, so much fun and releases you of all the stress you've built up by working and studying.
I am coming closer Mr. Next Sunday!
Dinner at 8 ;)
Alright, we just had a lot of fun this evening with Zaheer (our really cool CEO), Joe and Chris (Zaheer's partners). We went to Bar-B-Q Tonite (again) and had great food!
In that time we talked about a lot of things about the company (Centric Source), about movies and about each other
Chris had so much fun with the guys, he is really interested in getting better all the time. He is workin hard to get things in a much better shape than they are at the moment. As you know, you always have something to improve upon.
Zaheer, Joe and Chris, thanks so much on behalf of my team! we had a great time with you guys!
Plus, I also won a discount coupon of Rs.1000 outside the BBQ Tonite from the United Mobile promotions people who were standing outside of the resturant. Now I can get the Nokia 6120 Classic for Rs.1000 less than the market price! wohoo!
Super Sunday despite being robbed! ;)
I had another super sunday. I went places
and had a lot of fun.
Sunday morning, I was sitting on my computer doing assignments and whatnot. Afternoon, went to sleeep and woke up at 3:30 something.
Then I kept awake and had khana.. then we went to the singer Haroon for he had some website work needed to be done. My friend Ansar had asked me to go with him. I had done a good amount of work for Haroon's site earlier. He wanted more features in the CMS I did for him. I did not meet him the first time I worked for him, it was all communicated through Ansar. This time, Ansi told me to deal in direct terms. I met him (Haroon) and he is a really nice and humble person. He is a cool guy, he gave me his latest album's CD "Haroon Ka Nasha".
Once I was done with the meeting with Haroon, I had to reach Park Towers where we (my office crew) were supposed to have a good khapa in the food court. Heck we didn't realize it was Sunday and Park Towers is 'for families only' on Sundays. We went to Bar-B-Q Tonight and had a nice (but expensive) meal there. I am quoting expensive as it was me who had to pay the bill =[ for I was the qurbani ka bakra this time, having received my first salary over here at Centric Source.
It was a fun day and once I reached home, I went straight to "bister"!
Me at Work
